NANAIMO — Mechanical issues on board a BC Ferries vessel led to police trying to calm frustrated travelers
Problems with the “main engine turbocharger” on board the Queen of Cowichan on Monday, Aug. 31, resulted in several sailings cancelled, both Monday evening and the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Off the schedule were 4 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. sailings from Departure Bay on Monday, followed by 6:15 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. crossings on Tuesday.
Further sailings are at risk of cancellation Tuesday afternoon.
