SYRACUSE, N.Y. — It’s not just the Rochester region that’s dealing with storms. The gates of the New York State Fair in Syracuse were temporarily closed on Wednesday because of flooding.
The fair posted a photo of the flooding to its Facebook page. The fair reopened its gates around an hour after initially closing them.
Although it did reopen, it will be closing at 6 p.m. Wednesday due to anticipated severe thunderstorms. Both evening performances still went on Wednesday.
The fair kicked off last week and continues through Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 7) at the fairgrounds on 581 State Fair Blvd, just off the Thruway. All concerts, exhibits, and other entertainment are included with the price of admission. This year’s music lineup includes some all-star acts, including Third Eye Blind, ZZ Top, Flo Rida.
