Massachusetts woman accused of recording video of Lindsay Clancy trial jury outside courthouse
PLYMOUTH, Mass. —
A woman accused of recording video of jurors in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial was arraigned Wednesday morning, but claimed outside of court she was just trying to see the Massachusetts mother who is accused of strangling her three children.
Dawn Light, 56, of Sutton, was charged with one count of intimidation of a witness, juror, or person furnishing information in connection with criminal proceedings, according to a Massachusetts State Police spokesperson.
She was arrested at approximately 3:40 p.m., around the time when jurors in Clancy’s trial were excused for the day after failing to reach a verdict.
Prosecutors said that court security responded and found Light’s vehicle parked near a restricted area.
“She stated that she was waiting to see if Lindsay Clancy would come out of the building,” the prosecutor said.
Prosecutors also said that Light agreed to allow state police to review the photos saved on her phone, and that the troopers found a video of jurors exiting the courthouse among Light’s recently deleted content.
A not guilty plea was entered in Light’s case.

Before the jurors resumed deliberations in the Clancy trial on Wednesday morning, Judge William Sullivan issued a public warning about behavior around this case and his order governing media coverage. Sullivan was also seen asking each of the jurors a question individually, which is unusual.
Clancy’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, said that question was related to Light’s alleged actions.
“Undoubtedly he put each juror, even the alternates, under voir dire — which is a fancy way of saying an interview under oath — and determined that their ability to continue as fair and impartial jurors was not impaired or violated in any way,” said retired Massachusetts judge Jim Barretto. “Once he made that finding, which undoubtedly was made at sidebar on the record, he could proceed with the trial.”
Light was ultimately released following the arraignment on personal recognizance. Outside of the courthouse, she repeated her claim that she was trying to see Clancy.
“I did see her. She was getting picked up by the van,” Light said before she was interrupted by someone who advised her not to comment further.
