■ Israeli strikes killed four and wounded at least 20 others in southern Lebanon, the country’s Health Ministry reported. The Israeli military said it struck southern Lebanon after Hezbollah launched two explosive drones at Israeli soldiers operating in the Israeli-occupied buffer zone.
■ Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said Saturday they attacked a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier and destroyer with ballistic missiles. The United States has not confirmed the report.
■ The Israeli military said it launched a surprise readiness exercise simulating a sudden outbreak of multi-front hostilities.
■ The Israeli military and Israel Police said a large-scale security forces drill will begin Monday in the port city of Eilat and the nearby Arava desert area, simulating a surprise attack and cross-border infiltration into Israel by air, sea and land.
■ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s graft trial will resume Sunday at the Jerusalem District Court following the summer recess, with about 20 hearings expected to take place before Israel’s elections on October 27.
■ Tehran has ended its policy of proportionally retaliating against the United States and will now launch “faster, heavier and more painful” attacks in response to U.S. strikes, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said, according to Mehr News.
■ Israel’s National Security Council issued a statement warning that the risk of attacks on Israelis and Jews overseas has increased amid the ongoing conflict with Iran.
