NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Frito-Lay employee in Nashville died after the Metro Nashville Police Department said a bullet from gunfire went through a side metal wall at a Sam’s Club at 1300 Antioch Pike.
A 55-year-old man, identified as Paris Carlock, of Murfreesboro, was working in the chip aisle in the middle of the store when he a bullet struck him in the head. Staff rushed to his side.
The man was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries, according to police.
Police activity could be seen at the Sam’s Club on Antioch Pike, and part of the roadway was blocked while officers investigated.
Police said the investigation shows that the gunfire was connected to an argument that began inside Lavo Lounge, just down the street from the Sam’s Club.
Individuals were removed by security and the argument reportedly continued outside, police said.
Shots were heard as multiple vehicles were leaving.
“Anyone with information about the gunfire and/or the vehicles involved is asked to call Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463,” Police said. “Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.”
