A poll conducted by WDIV/Detroit News asked Michigan voters from across the state about their opinions on various topics in the 2026 general election. Some of the questions focused on how Michigan voters felt about President Donald Trump and his handling of the war in Iran.

Approve: 25.7%

Disapprove: 67.3%

Strongly approve –16.3%

Somewhat approve — 9.4%

Somewhat disapprove — 10.2%

Strongly disapprove — 57.1%

Neither/Neutral/Don’t Know/Refused — 7.0%

Stronger — 18.7%

Weaker — 57.9%

No effect — 16.6%

Agree: 35.2%

Disagree: 60.3%

WDIV and the Detroit News commissioned a survey of likely voters in Michigan’s November 2026 general election. The poll was conducted by The Glengariff Group, Inc.

It was a 600-sample, live-operator telephone survey that was conducted on Aug. 31 through Sept. 3, 2026.

The margin of error is +/-4.0%, and there is a 95% level of confidence.

Of the respondents, 15.0% of respondents were called via landline telephone, and 85.0% were called on a cellphone.
