Early this week, Mansour Abbas, leader of the United Arab List, and Yoav Segalovitz, a former police commissioner and centrist politician, were interviewed on Israel’s Channel 12 News by the anchor Dana Weiss. It was the first joint interview the two men had conducted since Segalovitz joined Abbas’s Muslim religious party (he sits at number two on its roster), a move that one Palestinian Israeli political analyst described to me as a “tectonic shift” in Israeli politics.
