ELKHORN, Neb. (WOWT) – Authorities have identified the two people killed in a crash in Douglas County Saturday morning.
According to a release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of the sedan involved in the crash was identified as 25-year-old Caitlyn Colter of Blair, Nebraska. The passenger of the sedan was identified as 20-year-old Cameron Colter of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened in the area of 204th and Bennington around 10 a.m. Saturday.
The DCSO says a sedan heading east on Bennington Road ran a stop sign and was hit on the driver’s side by a semi truck heading south on 204th.
The Caitlyn was declared deceased at the scene. Cameron transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Authorities say 204th Street between Rainwood Road and Highway 36 are closed due to the crash.
