Traffic is being held on the M6 motorway in Greater Manchester due to an ongoing ‘police incident’ tonight (Sunday, September 13).
All lanes are being held in both directions between Junction 26 and Junction 27 near Wigan.
The incident was first reported at around 8.50pm, with delays building in both directions.

A National Highways spokesperson said: “M6 both directions near Wigan between J26 and J27 Traffic is currently being held due to a police led incident. Emergency services are on scene. Current delays of 10 mins and 1 mile of congestion on the approach in both directions.”
