A couple strolling along a beach in Germany found what was believed to be the world’s oldest message in a bottle on August 21, 2015.
Marianne Winkler and her husband Horst were on holiday on the North Sea island of Amrum when they found the bottle.
The bottle was 108 years old and was one of 1020 released into the North Sea between 1904 and 1906 by scientist George Parker Bidder in an effort to study deep sea currents.
