Vice President JD Vance, SBA announce COVID loan fraud charge operation at Kansas City event
Vance is speaking in two area events on Monday
KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
Vice President JD Vance took part in a major announcement regarding a COVID-era loan fraud operation during his time in Kansas City on Monday.
Vance spoke from Kansas City’s FBI headquarters Monday morning along with Attorney General Todd Blanche, Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler, FBI Director Kash Patel, Senator Eric Schmitt and Assistant Attorney General Colin M. McDonald of the Justice Department’s National Fraud Enforcement Division.
During the event, SBA Inspector General Bill Kirk announced “Operation No Doze.”
Starting in Kansas and Missouri, and collaborating with United States attorneys, on Tuesday, demand letters from the SBA will be sent to suspected fraudsters in both states.
“It does not matter when the fraud happened,” Kirk said. “If you stole from the taxpayer by claiming a pandemic, PPP, EIDL, disaster or any SBA loan that you were not entitled to, answer the demand letter you’re going to receive from the SBA. If you do not, you will face consequences.
“We know who you are and where you live. “Operation No Doze” will keep you up at night.”
After the fraud announcement, Vance is continuing on to a ticketed event at an Olathe, Kansas, manufacturing facility. Vance is scheduled to speak as part of an event with Make America Great Again Inc., a pro-President Donald Trump super political action committee that has been pushing money into supporting Republican candidates for the 2026 midterm elections.
Senator Roger Marshall is expected to appear and speak alongside Vance at the Olathe event.
