An assistant at a daycare center in Netanya, convicted of multiple counts of abuse and 12 cases of assault of babies and toddlers in her care, has been sentenced to seven years in prison. The Lod District Court handed down the sentence to Shelly Sheinker, 23, on Tuesday. It also ruled she must pay 300,000 shekels ($98,000) in compensation to the parents of the children she harmed, who ranged in age from seven to 18 months.
