Protester interrupts Vice President JD Vance during speech about Sen. Roger Marshall in Olathe
A protester was removed from an Olathe, Kansas, event featuring U.S. Vice President JD Vance, who took a trip to the Kansas City metro on Monday to talk about new anti-fraud operations and to support Sen. Roger Marshall.
Vance visited Webco Manufacturing at an event hosted by Make America Great Again Inc., a super political action committee supporting Republican candidates.
But during the event, a protester interrupted, shouting comments at the vice president, though the sentiments weren’t immediately clear.
Security personnel quickly removed the protester, pushing him through the crowd who waved him off. Vance supporters broke out in a “USA” chant for a time as the man was escorted out the doors.
Vance acknowledged the protester, saying he was there to lie about Marshall.
“Now this guy, this guy, I’m telling you, ladies and gentlemen, here’s what happened. He decided to come in and lie about my very dear friend Doc Marshall, because the reality is that Doc Marshall has stood up for everyday Americans every single day he’s been in the United States Senate.”
Vance also made a comment about a protester at a previous speech, saying that protester had “the common courtesy to bring a Mexican flag so we know where he stood.”
