The RNC has seized one vehicle and is still trying to identify the driver of another vehicle following a couple of stunting incidents on Kenmount Road last night.
Video circulating on social media shows a Corvette doing doughnuts in the middle of traffic on Kenmount Road, nearly colliding with a number of vehicles as onlookers scream.
Responding police could not find the vehicle involved, but while parked in a nearby lot officers noticed a second vehicle pull onto Kenmount Road at a high speed, temporarily losing control.
The vehicle was pulled over and seized by police while the 32-year-old driver was ticketed for performing stunts.
RNC are asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle and driver involved in the original stunting incident.

The President of the Newfoundland Antique and Classic Car Club is disgusted by a reckless display on Kenmount Road last night that had the potential to cause serious harm.

In one video, someone can be seen hanging out the window of the spinning car, waving to people on the side of the road.
Car enthusiasts have gathered at the A&W on Kenmount Road for decades to show off their prized vehicles, but Carl Hamlyn says things have started to take a turn in recent weeks.

“We don’t condone any of this behaviour, the last few weeks it’s gotten worse at A&W. I left early last night around 8:00 so I was gone when that happened. But it’s happened the last couple of weeks, it’s been getting worse. The car community in this province does not condone this type of action.”
RNC is aware and is expected to provide an update on the situation sometime today.
The city of St. John’s says it is “disheartening” to see unsafe behaviour on the city’s roadways, and council urges residents to follow the rules of the road.
It’s not the first time it’s happened. A driver was ticketed for stunting on Kenmount Road in July.
