River North shooting today: 3 injured in downtown Chicago shooting outside nightclub near Clark and Erie streets, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — Three men were shot during an altercation outside of a downtown nightclub early Saturday morning, Chicago police said.

Police said the shooting happened near North Clark and West Erie streets in the city’s River North neighborhood around 3:40 a.m.

A suspect or multiple suspects took out a gun and opened fire, striking the men, police said.

A 24-year-old, shot in the cheek and leg, was in critical condition.

A 22-year-old, shot in both legs, was in good condition.

A 25-year-old, shot in both legs and one hand, was in good condition.

Police said the shooter or shooters fled the scene.

Video from captured a heavy police presence in the area, and an ABC7 crew saw officers looking at shell casings that littered the street.

Area Three detectives are investigating. Authorities did not immediately provide additional information about the shooting.
