A popular true crime podcaster complained that “60 Minutes” didn’t entertain wild conspiracy theories about Patrick Clancy after the grieving dad granted his first sit-down since his ex-wife’s trial for killing their three children ended in a mistrial.
“Point blank, that is probably the worst interview I’ve seen in a long time,” Briana Whitney, a contributor for the “Crime Junkie Podcast,” blasted in a now viral TikTok video posted just moments after the CBS segment aired Sunday.
While speaking with journalist Ross Douthat, Clancy and Rachel Danis, a NYC fertility doc whom he married earlier this year, revealed they were starting their own family and expressed their excitement about sharing memories of Clancy’s first children – Cora, 5; Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan – with his future ones.

Whitney whined on TikTok that the couple’s pregnancy announcement was “the only actual new piece of information we really learned” during the interview.
“Patrick wasn’t really asked anything by the host of actual substance…Literally any of the questions you had – not answered, not asked,” she said.
Patrick Clancy has been the subject of bizarre and vicious conspiracy theories from across the “true crime” social media spectrum. Some wackos have even claimed that Lindsay Clancy didn’t actually kill her kids — despite her admission in court — and that her then-husband was responsible.
Whitney, who called herself “a journalist” in the clip, apparently expected Douthat and Clancy to acknowledge such baseless allegations.
“There was no questions about inconsistencies in [Patrick’s] story, no questions about why were the kids left alone, no questions on the mistrial itself, how this all went down, no question about what’s happened with the jurors ever since,” she moaned.
The podcaster also complained that the interviewer failed to dig deeper into Clancy and Danis’ love story.
Following Danis’ brief explanation that the duo met while running in New York City – where Clancy relocated soon after his children’s murders in January 2023 – “We just hear that they’re like living happily ever after, they’re having a child and we, like, moved right along with the interview – like, there were no other questions there,” Whitney seethed.

Otherwise, “The only even like marginal piece of information we learned was that [Patrick] had a panic attack before they listened to the 911 call during testimony,” she continued in the TIkTok video, referring to the dad’s testimony over two days during Lindsay Clancy’s triple-murder trial in July.
During the “60 Minutes” interview, Clancy revealed that he had suffered a “massive, traumatic panic attack” that had even landed him in an ambulance after testifying about the night he returned home to find that his ex-wife had fatally strangled the kids using exercise bands and thrown herself out of a window in a botched bid to kill herself.
The dad’s harrowing 911 call – in which he could be heard screaming, “She killed the kids!” – was played aloud for the Plymouth County Courtroom at one point while he was on the witness stand.

Lindsay Clancy’s trial captivated the nation over the defense team’s argument that she was legally insane due to postpartum psychosis when she committed the unthinkable crimes.
It remains unclear whether prosecutors in Massachusetts will move to retry the case, which ended in a hung jury and mistrial the first time around after a lone male holdout juror refused to find her not guilty by reason of insanity.
Patrick Clancy called the prospect of a second trial “extraordinarily painful” in a statement previously released by his lawyer – in which the attorney also lashed out at the “escalating campaign of misinformation” against his client and vowed to pursue legal action against people making unfounded claims against the grieving dad online.
Still, internet personas like Whitney aren’t backing down.
“If you’re frustrated by what you just watched, you’re not alone – we truly don’t know anything from Patrick,” she said at the end of the TikTok video.
