Quebec’s election campaign was rocked Friday by allegations of possible foreign interference only days before advance voting is set to begin across the province.
“It was only in the last few days that my team informed me of documents available online pointing to potential interference in the Quebec election involving the Parti Québécois — interference allegedly originating from the United States,” Quebec’s incumbent premier and Coalition Avenir Québec Leader Christine Fréchette told reporters.
“I only learned of this recently.”
