Two people were killed and seven others were injured in a crash that left wreckage scattered across an Oxnard roadway, authorities say.
OXNARD, Calif. (KABC) — At least two people were killed and seven others were injured in a devastating multi-vehicle crash that left wreckage scattered across an Oxnard roadway Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The crash was reported at Victoria and Doris avenues. About six to seven cars were involved in the collision.
AIR7 footage showed a large pickup truck on its side with its front end heavily damaged. Another wrecked vehicle appeared pinned underneath the truck.
At least one other vehicle behind the truck sustained front-end damage. Just a few feet away near the intersection, an SUV with substantial damage was next to what appeared to be a car engine.
Debris from the wreckage was scattered across the roadway.
Authorities shut down all lanes of Victoria Avenue between Gonzales Road and Teal Club Road as crews and police responded to the scene and investigated the crash.
No additional details about the victims or the cause of the collision were immediately available.
