Hurricane Nolo isn’t moving. The center of the high-end Category 2 hurricane was located 145 miles south of Hawaii’s Big Island as of Saturday morning, with its 105 mph winds. And it was parked.
That’s why Nolo presents such a severe flood threat for the Big Island, which just last month received a widespread 20 to 30 inches of rain from Hurricane Lala. Once again, a significant hurricane is stalling, putting the Big Island in the crosshairs of robust tropical moisture.
