Rangers came from behind to win the season’s first SWPL Old Firm derby against Celtic and move three points clear at the top.
The commanding display also maintained Leanne Crichton’s side’s 100% start after six league matches.
But they had to fight back after trailing in the 12th minute when Poppy Lawson’s delivery was not dealt with, leaving Maria McAneny unmarked to head in brilliantly.
Losing the early goal seemed to galvanise Rangers and they were soon level. Laura Berry’s pinpoint cross sat up perfectly for Jodie McLeary to volley in.
Calliste Brookshire then pounced on a loose pass and set up McLeary for her second of the afternoon to put them in front for the first time.
McAneny came close to grabbing an equaliser for Celtic with another header but this time the hosts did clear the danger.
However, Celtic started the second half well and were back in the game after getting the better of a goalmouth scramble.
The initial danger was cleared but the ball eventually fell to Chloe Arthur, who fired in from close range.
Again Rangers responded strongly. Katie Wilkinson came close twice as they piled on the pressure and Crichton made changes as her side looked for the winner.
And Hannah Blake was barely on the pitch when she made it 3-2. She was quick to react to a slack pass and coolly finish off.
Rangers were rampant and Wilkinson furthered their lead as she curled in a magnificent free-kick.
Much of Rangers’ impressive performance came through the energy of Brookshire, so it was fitting she scored her side’s fifth and final goal.
She danced into the area and finished off on the angle to cap a brilliant win for Rangers as Grant Scott’s Celtic suffered a season’s first loss.
