“I work with Hoselton’s. They make the awards we give away at work.
They do a number of corporate items and awards, and sometimes letter openers. This looks like a letter opener, and judging by the engraving, it was done for Xerox. When working with us for our awards, they made a custom design that spoke to our brand. I would assume they did the same for Xerox, and the design of the handle might have some significance to the company.
Update: So, I’m a designer. I decided to dig a bit deeper. The handle is the shape of the Xerox Research Center in Mississauga from above. The address is 2660 Speakman Drive. If you use Google Maps, you can see it. The building was built in 1984, and the letter openers were probably made to commemorate the occasion. It’s a gem of a building.”
