Originally arrested in May, woman now faces 65 charges linked to five hospitals, including St. Joseph’s Health Centre and West Park Health Care Centre
A former hospital staffer in Orillia who was arrested earlier this year for theft and fraud is facing a slew of new charges related to similar incidents at other Ontario hospitals — including two in Toronto.
Nassim Eronn, a 34-year-old Burlington woman, was charged in May of 2026 following an investigation into alleged theft and fraud at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH).
On Saturday, the OPP announced they have identified additional victims and laid further charges in connection with the ongoing fraud investigation.
The investigation involves incidents that are alleged to have occurred at the following healthcare facilities during the dates indicated:
Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (Orillia) — between April 2025 and March 2026;
Headwaters Health Care Centre (Orangeville) — between August 2026 and September 2026;
Trillium Health Partners, Mississauga Hospital (Mississauga) — between August 2025 and July 2026;
St. Joseph’s Health Centre (Toronto) — between July 2024 and January 2025; and
West Park Health Care Centre (Toronto) — between February 2024 and April 2024.
“This investigation was prompted by several complaints of theft and fraud from patients and staff within the hospital,” noted a media release from the Orillia OPP issued in May.
Multiple search warrants have since been executed, resulting in significant amounts of property being seized, today’s release noted.
As a result of the investigation, Eronn now faces a total of 65 Criminal Code offences:
34 counts of fraud under $5,000;
13 counts of theft under $5,000
Seven counts of disobeying a court order
Four counts of criminal breach of trust
Two counts of fraud over $5,000
Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Theft over $5,000
Personation with intent
The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Orillia OPP’s major crime unit.
Police believe there may be additional victims who were patients, visitors and/or staff members in various units of these hospitals.
“Investigators are asking any individuals who attended these medical facilities during the above timeframes to check their financial records for any unauthorized transactions,” notes the media release.
