MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) — A dump truck truck of interest has been located after a bicyclist was struck and killed in Midtown Manhattan on Monday, according to NYPD officials.
It happened just after 10:50 a.m. at 151 West 34th St. near the Macy’s in Herald Square.
Preliminarily, police say a person driving a dump truck westbound on West 34th Street toward Seventh Avenue collided with a person on a bike westbound on West 34th Street in the same direction.
EMS responded to the location and pronounced the victim riding the bicycle dead at the scene.
Police say the dump truck did not remain at the scene and continued driving westbound on West 34th Street.
A dump truck of interest was then located at Fifth Avenue and 35th Street. Police are talking to the driver.
It’s not clear yet if the driver was aware that they hit the cyclist, who was riding on a JOCO e-bicycle, an electric bicycle rental network built specifically for food delivery and gig workers.
No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation remains ongoing.

West 34th Street between Seventh Avenue and Broadway is closed to traffic due to the investigation. Delays are expected in the area.
