A second person has died following a crash in Wilmot over the summer and police have laid new charges against a driver from Kitchener.
On the afternoon of Aug. 1, emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a Toyota and a Honda at the Bridge St. and Diamond Rd. intersection.
The driver of the Toyota, a 70-year-old Wilmot woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Honda, a 24-year-old Kitchener man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, along with two passengers.
A third passenger in the Honda was transported out-of-the-region with life-threatening injuries.
Initially, the Kitchener man was charged with dangerous operation causing death and three counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
On Sept. 26, the third passenger died as a result of sustained injuries from the crash. They have been identified as a 27-year-old from Cambridge.
The Kitchener man has been charged with an additional count of dangerous operation causing death and will appear in court on Sept. 29.
