Seven months into America’s war with Iran, it’s time to ask what the exit looks like.

Tehran has now offered one: Reopen the Strait of Hormuz — the chokepoint for a fifth of the world’s oil — within days, if Washington eases military pressure. That isn’t surrender. That’s a deal, and it deserves a serious answer.

Here in Louisiana we feel this war at the pump and in our ports. Hundred-dollar oil doesn’t just raise gas prices; it ripples through every refinery shift, every shipping contract every grocery bill in New Orleans. The administration promised strength. Strength is knowing when to bank a win.

Diplomacy isn’t weakness — it’s how wars end. Our congressional delegation should say so publicly.

Take the Hormuz deal, wind this war down and let Louisiana get back to work.
