So far, three Formula 1 drivers will have to serve grid penalties at this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia.

Racing Bulls driver Arvid Lindblad will start at the back of the grid as his team fits new power unit components.

Racing Bulls announced on Thursday at Sepang that Lindblad would take multiple fresh power unit components that will trigger a back-of-the-grid penalty.

Franco Colapinto picked up a five-place drop for causing a collision with team-mate Pierre Gasly and McLaren’s Lando Norris in Baku.

Colapinto was initially awarded a 10-second time penalty, but as he was out of the race and unable to serve the penalty, it was converted into a five-place grid drop for his next race.

Alpine opted change his internal combustion engine (his fifth of the year) on Friday at Sepang, so that’s an additional 10-place grid penalty.

Isack Hadjar revealed in his Thursday media session that he’d be facing a grid drop for his seventh ICE of the season.

“It’s going to be difficult for me, I should be taking five places penalty, but even like that, I believe it’s a track [where if] you have the race pace, you go up,” Hadjar said.

“If we can’t, then that means we’re not fast enough. So let’s see.”
