British TV presenter Alison Hammond is getting her heart checked after having to leave This Morning mid-broadcast. Hammond, who Americans know best as co-host of The Great British Baking Show, was presenting a segment about pets when she abruptly walked off-camera. When the show came back from commercial, her co-host Dermot O’Leary told the audience “Alison is feeling a little unwell, so she’s just had to duck out. Hopefully she’ll be back.” On her Instagram stories, Hammond said she had either a heart palpitation or panic attack, and is now in hospital to get to the bottom of it.
“I know you’re all worried about me,” she said (per Deadline). “Honestly, I am fine, first of all. I’m getting my old ticker checked out. I had a little bit of a palpitation, and now I’m getting it all checked out. But I think I’m okay. I’m hoping it was just a little panic attack or something like that. I love you all.”
