Emergency services were called just after 7am to a home in Maida Street at Lammermoor near Yeppoon on Queensland’s Capricorn Coast.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the 27-year-old man died at the scene.
The offender left the scene in a white ute with a woman.
Police say the two men were known to each other.
No arrests have been made and police say the investigation is ongoing.
