Ahead of Saturday night’s final, Sir Kevin Sinfield completed his ‘7 in 7’ challenge, raising money for motor neurone disease (MND) causes in memory of his friend and teammate Rob Burrow.
Sir Kevin completed seven ultramarathons in seven days, crossing the finish line at Old Trafford just before the Super League Grand Final.
The fundraiser and his team have raised more than £13m for the MND community since his first annual challenge in 2020.
Speaking to the crowd, he said: “The rugby league community has got right behind the MND community and Rob would be so proud to see how you’ve supported and cared, and showed your love for a community that really needs us.”
Sir Kevin’s son Jack Sinfield was among the Trinity winners.
