WESH 2 First Warning Weather Meteorologist Cam Tran said the area of interest could become a tropical depression by the end of the week.
The latest model tracks show a slight easterly shift. However, the system is still expected to remain weak and well west of Central Florida, Cam said.

Wind shear is forecast to increase across the northern Gulf later in the week. This could prevent anything stronger from developing, keeping the season hurricane-free.
