A man and woman have been charged in the assaults that hospitalized two people in Winnipeg’s Osborne Village.
A 32-year-old woman and 26-year-old man, both from Little Grand Rapids, are charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.
Police say a man in his 40s was waiting at a bus stop at the corner of River Avenue and Osborne Street when he was randomly attacked by two people around 11:40 p.m. Sunday.
He was punched, knocked to the ground and kicked, rendering him unconscious, police said in a news release on Tuesday.
The attackers walked away and then sat on a nearby bus bench, police said.
Shortly after, a man in his 20s was walking past the two when they demanded use of his phone. When he refused, he was hit with a broken bottle, police said.

The male attacker ran off but the woman went back to the bus shelter where the first assault occurred and laid down on the sidewalk, where she fell asleep, police said.
Police previously said they arrived shortly after midnight Monday after being called about the assaults.
The man who was knocked unconscious was taken to hospital in critical condition, while the second victim was taken in stable condition.
Police arrested a woman found asleep in the bus shelter and a man found in the neighbourhood, the news release said.
