CHICAGO (WLS) — A 4-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was found with a gunshot wound to his head at a Far South Side home on Tuesday afternoon, Chicago police said.
Police said officers responded to the residence in the Jeffrey Manor neighborhood’s 2200-block of East 99th Street around 4 p.m.

There, officers found the injured boy. Police said he was transported to Comers Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
What led up to the gunfire was not immediately clear.
Police recovered a gun from the scene, and Area Two detectives are investigating.
Authorities did not immediately provide additional information about the shooting.
