DUBAI—A missile attack on Saudi Arabia’s international airport killed at least 12 people and injured hundreds more on Saturday, in strikes carried out by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militants to which the kingdom’s military vowed a response.

The attacks, the deadliest in Saudi Arabia in more than a decade, shook the kingdom, which has struggled for weeks to fend off militant strikes amid a surge in cross-border tension.
