Ontario Provincial Police say a second teenager has died following a jet ski collision in Lakeshore last week that also killed a 17-year-old girl.
Police confirmed a 16-year-old girl from Calgary, who had been airlifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, died of her injuries on Wednesday.
The crash happened on Aug. 14 around 2 p.m. near Couture Beach on Lake St. Clair. Police say a personal watercraft towing a tube struck a breakwall. First responders and nearby residents pulled four teenaged girls from the water.
A 17-year-old from Windsor-Essex was pronounced dead shortly after the collision. Two other girls, ages 15 and 17, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The OPP say the investigation is ongoing.
