Police say in a media release that officers spotted a pickup truck with no licence plates parked off Yorkshire Avenue Extension around 10:35 a.m.
When officers approached, the truck sped out of the lot. Police pursued the truck with lights and sirens, but the vehicle failed to stop and struck another car at an intersection near Windmill Road.

The truck fled across the MacKay Bridge toward Halifax, and police are still searching for it. The vehicle is described as a newer-model black Ford F-150 with a tonneau cover.
