SCOTRUN, Pa. (WPVI) — Officials are investigating a double homicide at the Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains.
The Monroe County Coroner’s Office confirmed Tuesday that it was investigating the incident at the family resort located at 1 Great Wolf Drive in Scotrun, Monroe County.
Great Wolf Lodge released a statement, saying: “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident that occurred yesterday in a guest room at our resort in the Pocono Mountains. It was an isolated family incident, and we’re cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected. Out of respect for those involved, as well as the integrity of the investigation, we ask that any further information regarding this matter be directed to Pocono Township Police Department.”
A spokesperson for the resort told Action News that operations at the resort continue after they say law enforcement “determined it was an isolated family incident and verified there was no ongoing security concerns.”
Resort officals added that there was a small area of the resort with restricted access due to the police investigation, and if a guest is uncomfortable visiting the resort at this time, they are providing the opportunity to postpone their visit to a different date with no change fees.
