The second allegation, from 2001, is of indecent assault, which came about after Brand the second complainant admired his T-shirt, the prosecution tells the jury.
Brand offered to give the woman his T-shirt – to which she is alleged to have said: “Make sure you give it a good wash first.”
Prosecutors say Brand then asked where the toilets were and the woman offered to show him.
When they reached the toilets, prosecutors say, Brand asked the woman to “come in” before grabbing her forearm.
She resisted, by struggling and pulling back. He had what she describes as a desperate wild-eyed look on his face, as he said: “Please please come in – oh go on.”
She continued to resist, saying: “I’m not coming in there, don’t be silly, are you mad – get off me”, and she managed to pull herself away
At that point, the prosecution says, Brand gave up and went into the toilet.
The woman mentioned it to another person at the time but did not formally report it. She later reported it in 2023 as she thought it might be relevant information, the court is told.
