Israeli Olympic medalists Linoy Ashram, Yarden Gerbi and Avishag Semberg joined actors, businesswomen and other guests at a L’Oréal Paris gala in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, celebrating women’s achievements across sport, culture and business.
About 250 guests attended the October 13 event at the Hangar Club, which was hosted by executives of the beauty brand, according to organizers.
Ashram won gold in rhythmic gymnastics at the Tokyo Olympics, held in 2021. Gerbi won bronze in judo at the 2016 Rio Olympics, while Semberg took bronze in taekwondo in Tokyo.
“The event was designed to celebrate powerful femininity from all walks of life and across all ages,” said Ilan Nakash, director of the Consumer Products Division at L’Oréal Israel.
“It centers on the stories of women who chose to break boundaries, set goals for themselves, and fulfill them in their own way, in sports, acting, science, business, leadership, and culture.”
Actress and singer Ania Bukstein performed three songs, including one in French.
Organizers said one of the evening’s themes was beauty across generations. Several guests attended with family members: actress Maggie Azarzar came with her mother, Emilia, while Neta Garty attended with her daughter, Lenny Roth. Actress Shira Levi was joined by her mother, Anat Lichtenstein.
Other attendees included actress Yael Elkana, model May Tager, rhythmic gymnast Neta Rivkin, Adi Altschuler and Dr. Ronit Almog.
The program teaches bystanders how to respond to sexual harassment in public spaces. In Israel, it offers online learning alongside in-person and virtual training for institutions and organizations, delivered by the association’s staff.
ARCCI is the umbrella organization for Israel’s rape crisis centers, which support survivors of sexual violence. Its CEO, Orit Sulitzeanu, was among those attending the gala.
The evening also featured makeup, skincare and hair product displays, alongside footage from the brand’s fashion show in Paris.
