LinkedIn, the world’s largest business-social network, which has about 1.3 billion users and is owned by Microsoft, published on Wednesday the list of the top and most sought-after startup companies in Israel – which was entirely filled with cyber and AI companies.
In first place was cyber startup Oak, which launched in July this year with a $60 million seed funding round from funds Greylock, Accel, and CRV. Behind the company stands Shai Morag, who has the sale of two cyber companies under his belt: Secdo, which was sold to Palo Alto, and Ermetic, which was sold to Tenable.
In second place was Amnon Shashua’s doubleAI, which was established in 2023 and develops artificial intelligence systems to replicate rare expertise and tackle complex scientific and technical problems. In third place was Wonderful, which developed an artificial intelligence–based operating system that helps large organizations deploy AI agents and automate work. Following them were: Kela, Echo, Cyera, Notch, Mate, Eon, Port, and others.
Landing in the top 10 of the LinkedIn Top Startups list serves as a seal of quality, acting as a tool to attract talent and employees while saving on recruitment costs, easing future funding rounds for companies on the list, strengthening reputation and trust among non-tech corporate giants, and enabling global exposure.
LinkedIn builds the ranking based on data from its users while examining four main criteria: Workforce growth in the company, interest expressed in it by job seekers, user interaction with the company page, and the ability to recruit talent from tech giants (such as Google or Microsoft) – or in other words, how many talents “defected” from their comfortable position to the startup being evaluated.

All evaluated startup companies must be privately held, employ 30 or more full-time employees, be up to seven years old, and maintain headquarters in Israel or headquarters founded in Israel. LinkedIn further reports that startups that laid off 10% or more of their workforce between July 1, 2025, and the launch of the list were not included in its calculation.
Asaf Wiener, CEO of cyber company Mate Security, which ranked eighth on the list, told Walla Money: “We are pleased with our inclusion as one of the top 10 startups in Israel. As the company grows, the challenge is to continue to maintain levels of mutual connection among employees, a clear structure, knowledge that can be replicated and assimilated into the organization over time, and the ability to filter out background noise.
“These are important foundations that are sometimes eroded or disrupted in organizations as the team expands and the number of customers grows. In our view, the placement on the list reflects what we at Mate are building: An infrastructure that enables every employee to receive the necessary context and knowledge, make decisions independently, and focus on what matters to customers.”

Mate assists security teams in investigating and responding to cyber threats, automatically analyzing security alerts, and handling routine investigations so that analysts can focus on more complex attacks. The company was launched this year, and its team includes veterans of Wiz, Axonius, Meta, and Microsoft, including alumni of Unit 8200 and graduates of the Weizmann Institute, the Technion, and Cornell University. The company’s total fundraising prior to its launch stands at about $50 million.
The business-social network began publishing the “Top Startups” list back in 2017 as part of building a practical guide for job seekers that reinforces the network’s branding as a professional content and communications body, while creating an incentive for companies to invest in their presence on LinkedIn. Following changes made by the network, it is now possible to track top startup companies by country on the “Top Startups” page only starting from 2021.
