Emergency services are at the scene of a serious road crash on the N7.

The incident, involving a number of cars, happened at around 6.40pm on the westbound side of the road at Rathcoole.

The road is closed and westbound traffic is being diverted at Junction 4 (Rathcoole).

Transport Infrastructure Ireland said road users should expect significant delays.

Dublin Fire Brigade said the public should avoid the area.

Gardaí said there are no further details available at this time.
