BEND, Ore. (KATU) — Police in Bend are responding to reports of an active shooter situation at Silver Rail Elementary School.
A large police presence has gathered in the area. Residents are asked to avoid the area. The school has been placed on lockdown due to this incident.
A reunification location has been established at Journey Church, 61303 S Highway 97 near Goodwill and Dairy Queen, police officials said. Students’ families are asked to go there.
Few details have been released at this time.
KATU News has reached out to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office; a spokesperson said they are heading to assist with the incident.
Bend Police say they will provide a media update at 2:15 p.m.
