An inquest at Doncaster Coroner’s Court on Thursday heard that Chapman had died of “multiple traumatic injuries”.
Chapman had attended the park at about 13:30 BST on Saturday, climbed over two fences and entered the tiger enclosure.
After the attack, park staff secured the tiger and paramedics attended, who confirmed Chapman’s death at the scene, the inquest was told.
Senior coroner Nicola Mundy said Chapman had a history of mental illness, a diagnosis of schizophrenia and had suffered previous bouts of psychosis.
The inquest heard that the 24-year-old was under adult mental health services in Doncaster, but was “highly functioning and independent with no care requirements”.
The self-employed online trader was born in Chichester, West Sussex, and lived in Doncaster at the time of his death.
