AUSTIN, Texas – Authorities are investigating after a body was found in Lady Bird Lake.
The backstory:
The Austin Police Department says officers responded to a welfare check call at around 12:12 a.m. about a body in the water near the Wishbone Bridge pedestrian trail in the area near North Pleasant Valley Road and Canterbury Road.
The Austin Fire Department was then dispatched to the scene to aid in the recovery by boat.
The identity of the body has not been released.
APD says there were no obvious signs of trauma and that the case is currently not being investigated as a homicide.
