Vancouver Canucks reportedly not able to acquire Mason McTavish from the Anaheim Ducks

The Vancouver Canucks are once again looking to other NHL clubs and the open market to fill some needed holes in their top-6, but unfortunately they got some disappointing news in their hopes of getting a young star like Mason McTavish.

But, it appears they do not have the pieces to complete a deal.

Rich Dhaliwal of Donnie and Dhali – the Team on CHEK reported that Mason McTavish is asking for $7-8 million for his next contract, and the Ducks are open to moving him if hey get the right return, which the Canucks unfortunately do not have the assets for.

Recap of Rick Dhaliwal’s interview.

We knew that Vancouver was going to have a difficult time this offseason attracting free-agents and getting teams to give up their big trade pieces after what took place in 2024-25, and just 3 weeks into it the summer, it is confirming what all fans hopes would not happen.
