The 42-year-old is charged with possession and the making available of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, police say

On Friday, Oct. 16, the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) arrested and charged a 42-year-old Barrie man with possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and making available child sexual abuse and exploitation material following a two-month investigation.

Police say the ICE unit received reports that a specific IP address was using a peer-to-peer network to possess, download and make child sexual abuse and exploitation material available.

Investigators executed a search warrant on Oct. 15 at a residence in Barrie and seized several electronic devices belonging to the accused.

Police say forensic analysis and categorization resulted in the discovery of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
