SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The U.S. and Israeli militaries are preparing for possible renewed strikes against Iran after the November 3 midterm elections, according to The New York Times.
The report says potential targets include Iranian nuclear facilities, missile and drone sites, and energy infrastructure. U.S. and Israeli forces have also reportedly practiced strike maneuvers over Iraq.
President Donald Trump has not approved a new offensive, and the White House says he is keeping military options open as diplomatic efforts continue.
Indirect negotiations involving mediators including Pakistan and Qatar remain ongoing, but the two sides disagree over sanctions, the U.S. naval blockade, and Iran’s nuclear program.
Iran has warned it would retaliate if American strikes resume. A senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard official also threatened to target undersea internet cables and U.S. investments if Iranian infrastructure is attacked.
