Supporters of President Donald Trump got roasted on social media following comments they gave to Fox News outside a midterm rally in Iowa on Thursday.
Speaking with Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson, the MAGA faithful said they aren’t concerned about the high prices caused by the U.S. and Israel’s war against Iran.
“I’m sure people don’t like the high gasoline prices, but I look at it, as soon as we get this war over with, it will be worth it,” a Nebraska voter identified only as Dallas said.
Another voter said he was more concerned about issues affecting children than about rising prices.
“I’m not worried about the high prices at this point. I’m more worried about how our kids are getting mishandled in schools,” the Iowa voter, identified only as Corey, said.
Users on social media ripped into the MAGA supporters, many of whom, less than two years ago, cited inflation and the high cost of living as reasons for supporting Trump in 2024.
Some critics said Trump’s supporters will tolerate high prices if it stops them from admitting the president broke a major campaign promise. Others gave Trump credit for knowing his audience.
