Toronto police say they have found a vehicle believed to have been used to abduct three children from Scarborough on Friday, but the children and their mother have not been found.
In a news release Monday, police said the mother of the three children, Somerda Miclescu, 22, was believed to be driving a 2017 White Ford Expedition vehicle with Ontario licence plate DJJS 875.
Police did not say where or when they found the vehicle.
Daniel, six, Irina, three, and Anastasia, four months, were having a semi-supervised visit with a relative on Friday, when polices say their mother took them and fled. Police say the children’s mother does not have legal custody of them.
“Efforts to locate them remain ongoing,” police said in the release.
Police described the mother as 5 feet 7 inches, about 180 pounds, with long, black hair. Police said she was last seen wearing a long black skirt and a dark-coloured top.

Police first responded to a call at about 11:30 a.m. Friday for an abduction in the Midland Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East area.
Ionut Stroe, 25, the owner of the vehicle that Miclescu allegedly used to abduct the children, has been named by police as a person of interest in the case.
Stroe is also wanted for four counts of failing to comply with a release order, unrelated to the abduction.
Police described him as being around 5 feet 11 inches, 235 pounds, with a tattoo on his right forearm.
