Marianne Meed Ward re-elected as mayor of Burlington

Marianne Meed Ward has been re-elected as mayor of Burlington.

Meed Ward was first elected mayor in 2018 and has held the position since.

She defeated rivals Rory Nisan and Lisa Kearns — both former city councillors and deputy mayors — by 14 points and 22 points, respectively.

Meed Ward says a main goal for her third term is to tackle the city’s affordability concerns, adding that she’s a public servant before she’s a politician.
