MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – A new poll released Tuesday shows Vermont’s governor’s race in a near dead heat in the final week leading up to the election.
To date, four big polls have been released in the race between Republican incumbent Gov. Phil Scott and Democratic challenger Amanda Janoo.
The first, which the University of New Hampshire released Sept. 24, showed Janoo ahead by six points, 49% to Scott’s 43%.
Four days later, a Vermont Public poll showed Scott leading by 10 points, 42% to 32%.
State Navigate’s first poll, released Oct. 2, showed Janoo closing the gap by five points, 42% to Scott’s 47%.
And Tuesday, another poll from State Navigate shows Scott ahead by just three points, 49% to 43%.
In the race for lieutenant governor, that same poll also showed Republican incumbent John Rodgers trailing Democrat Molly Gray by 22 points.
